Im planning a climbing weekend at Moy Rock. Any suggestions for wild camping (ideally) or a camping site near the crag? Thanks.

There's a campsite in Inverness and also one in Dingwall I believe. Not used either so can't say which is better.

The Inverness one is a bit urban, assuming you mean the one by the sports centre.

This is probably the closest campsite: http://lochness-chalets.co.uk/Camping-at-Riverside-Caravan-park-and-campsit...

Its right by the local shop and and a very decent coffee shop. Please support this campsite rather than pitching up in local Forestry car parks.

There's Riverside campsite in Contin http://www.lochness-chalets.co.uk/ with shop etc nearby and also a big campsite in Dingwall which is just 8km away https://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/campsites/uk/highlands/dingwall...

Not used either as I live very nearby but both look pretty good.

We stayed in our van in Torridon but when it rained we went to Moy Rock - it’s an absolutely cracking venue. Bit of a hidden gem IMO. Enjoy!

It's not very hidden to me. I live 5 mins away and see it every day!

Contin campsite is the nearest. Be sure to check out the sausage rolls from the Coffee Bothy in Contin, they're amazing.

I've heard good things about the Coffee Bothy and given I live close by I've now been given a good excuse to visit, thank you 😀

If the OP ends up in Dingwall then you can't go far wrong with Deas pies either.  Deas is a very good local bakers.

Stayed at the Dingwall site a few times. Handy to either nip to Moy, across to Torridon or drive up to the sport crags like Princess's Cairn. In dodgy weather a good base with options including MTB at Strathpeffer.  Also great pub food in "the Mallard" and a decent pint.

Likewise Gaz..

And the coffee bothy is a little gem. Great coffee and pies, if that's your thing. The cafe on the station platform in Dingwall (Ems and Co.) is great too.

I was going to mention Ems and co. too! Only went there fairly recently despite going to its predecessor Tina's Tearoom many times and it's brilliant.

Sorry, off topic!
