The 2022 Rucksack Club Charity Calendar in support of Climbers Against Cancer is on the shelves now!
Thanks to the generosity of The Rucksack Club and some of its individual members, every penny of the purchase price will go to support Climbers Against Cancer in funding research around the world. That’s right – think of it as making a £10 charity donation and getting a free calendar!
Fifty photos taken from the equivalent month of the previous year feature members enjoying the whole gamut of Club activities: climbing, mountaineering, bouldering, fell-running; kayaking and paddle-boarding amongst other things. From the Matterhorn to the Old Man of Stoer; from E9 limestone to VDiff seacliff; and running the Joss Naylor Challenge to a snowy walk with the dog! There’s something for everybody!
Through the worldwide climbing community, CAC https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/ aims to increase awareness and raise funds for research in the continued fight against a disease that affects so many. Climbers Against Cancer is a non-profit organisation, with all proceeds donated directly to cancer research facilities throughout the world. CAC is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Last year, with your support, the calendar raised over £3,000 for Urban Uprising https://www.thebmc.co.uk/rucksack-club-and-urban-uprising-team-up-for-2021-... – let’s see if we can go even further for CAC this time!
What's not to like!? Get one for the kitchen wall, and a spare for the study, and don’t forget a few for stocking-fillers! Thanks in advance for your generous support!
Hi Pete. You're close(ish) - about 5 miles out I'd guess (right backdrop!) Chris C has got the right answer (see below). Why not treat yourself anyway - think of it as a free calendar whilst making a £10 donation to a great cause
Haha - yes, I realised after I posted the "competition" that I'd given a bit of a clue! You are, of course, correct! PM me with a reminder of your address and I'll get one in the post (and it would be great, when you get it, if you'd give it a review and a plug via your huge social media presence )
The calendar is now available at the Climbing Works!
To celebrate here's the photo from July. Adam Bowman pulling hard in a great photo by Marsha Balaeva, but can you spot the crag? The first person to post the correct answer gets a free calendar - extra kudos if you get the route!
Yup - nice one - it's The Torr. PM me with your postal address and I'll send you a calendar
No cigar for the route name though - I'll leave it until the end of the week before I post the answer, to see if anyone else can get it, and also post another month's featured pic for the chance to win another calendar
