I was in Cotswold Outdoor last week (Skipton branch, which Yes, is in England, but bear with me) and there was a box near the tills/checkout for recycling outdoor gear. Maybe your local branch (and there are some in Scotland) will participate in the scheme. Not sure what the kit is that you want to recycle, but posting here in case it is of use to you, and others may find the info useful.
