I've upgraded my Cassin X All Mountain axes for a pair of nomics (v3) as I never quite liked the shape nor the handle.

The nomics come with the pur'ice unrated pick. Ideal for an icefall, perhaps not for the early scratchy mixed climbing.

Which second set of picks should I buy for Scottish midgrade routes? All of the rest are T rated - Ice, Dry and Pur'dry.

I'd have a look at third party picks. I know Kuznia make a fairly wide range of picks for current and previous gen Petzl tools. Don't own any of them but once I get into mixed climbing I'm planning to order some from them for my Quarks.

Can recommend the Kuznia picks. They make their own version of the Petzl Dry pick which I find useful as an all round for Scotland. If you're going to be doing lots of turf routes, the Tatra pick is a bit beefier and harder wearing
