Hey folks. Im after a new softshell. Something light, splashproof, warm for hills and cool dog walking.

I fancy something a bit different to the standard stuff too, for a change.

Ive been looking for a while and Ortovox has come into view which fits the spec.

Has anyone come across this stuff before? Any good?

Well established brand best known for it's ski mountaineering kit. Great kit, but with somewhat of a Euro/Tirol/Dolomite style.

Super kit, they appear to have toned down their colours over the years (very sad).

They do very interesting things with Merino blends in the products. Sadly you don't see a lot of it in the UK.

As he said.  If you like the Euro style, very nice .  The woolmix stuff is nice

Ha. It's the Col Bechei in dessert orange. I was worried it was too loud.

Too loud? is that a thing?

At least if you ever need to be rescued they'll be able to see you

Well, I'm a shy retiring type.

Its good to know though. My wife can send out the search party to the lical boozer if I get 'lost' whilst out walking the pooch.

It has arrived and I can confirm its a thing of beauty and feels super. It has a mix of synthetic and merino.

I wanted something a bit unique and it certainly is.
