Whats your budget roughly? Do you want a 'taco' design without a hinge, or a folding design?
Folding pads don't offer as good protection if you land in the fold, but they can be stored more easily. Taco designs don't have a weak fold to land in and are better for covering small boulders, but need to be stored unfolded to keep the foam in good condition. I think another important choice is whether the straps are on the underside or the top. The ground around boulders can get very wet and muddy in the UK, and if the straps are on the underside, your back will get covered when carrying it.
I have the snap wham and really like it. Snap have a different internal design than some pads, they are made up of around a dozen square blocks. They are supposed to vary the stiffness of the pad depending on how high you fall from, softer for lower falls and stiffer for large falls. The bottom of the pad is a polyurethane which is pretty much waterproof, really easy to clean. The straps are on the top too so you dont get a muddy back. Some taco pads can lose their strength in the fold after a few years use, but with the snap, you can move the blocks around to fix this. One thing which could be improved is the velcro shoulder straps and closure mechanism.
If I were to go for a different pad, it would probably be a moon or organic pad. Moon pads are much better for wetter weather due to their covered strap system, and they are fairly priced too. Organic are said to have some of the best build quality and most durable foam, but they are expensive and their straps are on the underside (I think some of organic's pads have a cover for the shoulder straps and some don't).
