I have a pair of Lowe Alpine Paradigm softshell trousers that are coming to the end of their 12th year.

Love the close fit, the ankle zipped gussets and they're ideal for Irish summer mountains (or winter trails, which are basically the same weather). 

Can anyone reccommend a replacement ?

I was hoping to pay £50.

I have a pair of M E Ibex I'd sell and that would seem to match - neat and with ankle zips - they're the older model so better match your criteria than the later ones which are wider at the ankle. Black, Medium 32" waist. Hard wearing too. Depends on your size I suppose but whether or not they'll fit your waist they'll fit your budget! Let me know if of interest.
