There have been reports of night-time deer poaching across the Eastern Moors area (Blackamoor, Big Moor, Curbar, Froggatt, Baslow), including a distressing incident of a mutilated carcass left in a car park.

The main purpose of this post is to warn everyone to be vigilant, and aware that hunters with guns could be about. Hopefully, they'll stay away from groups of boulderers, runners or MTBs, but you never know.

There is no authorised shooting taking place in the area at the moment (and even if there was it would be in daylight). Any shots heard should be reported to the police.

The Derbyshire Rural Crimes team are onto this, and any reports will help them.

You can report by calling 101,  or the Crimestoppers/NFU rural crime reporting line on 0800 783 0137, or by facebook dm (https://www.facebook.com/ruralcrimeteam/). You can use the same details to report raptor persecution etc..
