Recommended everyday shoe with vibram sole?

I've had two pairs in succession of Paver's brown leather everyday shoes with vibram soles. Brilliant for gentle hillwalking, slippery grass, icy pavements etc. They seem to have stopped making them. I have excellent lightweight AltBerg hillwalking boots for heavier duty terrain, scrambling, boggy ground etc. What I'm looking for is something that looks just like an everyday shoe but has that brilliant, not-so-obvious vibram sole. Does anyone know of any such thing now on the market?

Im a big fan of the scarpa mojitos, possibly a little more outdoorsy than you are looking for? They have vibram soles and come in pretty much any colour you could want. I believe they also make a shoe called the mojito street that may be what you're looking for?

In reply to Adam Desforges:

Thanks for that. Yes, a little bit too outdoorsy. The mojito urban looks very good, the only snag being long and complicated laces, with many eyes.

Both Trickers and Cheaney do a brogue with what they call a commando sole which looks like a Vibram sole. They are on the expensive side. Most of the Northampton shoe makers do something similar. You might find a discounted pair in one of their outlets shops if this is what you are after.

In reply to webbo:

Thanks, very helpful. I'll look into that.

I was in feet first, chesterfield about a month ago and they had some Altberg shoes. Proper shoes with ( I think) vibram soles. Worth giving them a call.

In reply to Foolow Mike:

Well, my Altberg boots are absolutely brilliant, really well made and comfortable, so I'll take a look. Thanks.

Brasher do walking shoes with vibram soles if you want something more 'work shoe' styled. Got mine in a Millets sale recently.

In reply to Gordon Stainforth:

Most shoe repairers will offer a Vibram sole unit as a possible replacement; maybe get a normal pair, and then get them resoled?

Depends how rugged a Vibram unit you want.

I have a pair of Scarpa Vortex XCR/GTX shoes, which are very comfortable. Also great approach shoes. I use them around the house and I think I also hiked up Half Dome in those.

In reply to John Stainforth:

I know those Scarpas are good, but it's not what I meant. Which was something that can pass as quite a smart ordinary shoe. I was actually wearing my last pair with a suit at that funeral in Scotland. I have now managed to track down the latest version. Not quite the same, but I think they'll do: Pavers' Casual Lace-up Derby. Have ordered.

Probably fine if you like your boots made in India. I prefer mine made in Northampton.

Thank you for your thoughts however I’m not really in the the market for another pair of brogues having five pairs at the last count. It should be six but the birthday pair of olive green Barkers from the daughter disappeared in transit.

Whoops can’t count I do have six pairs.

I’m sorry but how does that look like an everyday shoe. Maybe if everyday is doing the Bob Graham.

Yes, that's just the point. Exactly not what I was asking for.

I've now found that Pavers after all do have a kind of update of my present ones - called lace-up Derbys - that I've now ordered.

Pick a pair - https://www.loake.com/category/collections/country/

I have had a pair of their Epsom shoes for years - they could probably do with a resole now, but the rest is just nicely worn in.

There are a few Loake outlet shops kicking around including one on eBay. They sell seconds though you struggle to see the faults, usually they are selling at about 55% of normal price. I can recommend the one in Malton.

In reply to nniff:

Yes, that's exactly the specification, but rather expensive Thanks.

lowa.com do a variety of leather/goretex/vibram style shoes that look acceptable and are very well made. Spendy though (as not made in china).

Clarks, yes.

In reply to ben b:

I think the Pavers Casual Lace-up Derbys that I've just ordered will probably be fine. Cheers.

In reply to Gordon Stainforth:

Have a look at these, I recently bought a pair in brown.

https://www.alpinetrek.co.uk/dachstein-gebirgsjaeger-winter-boots/?aid=f161...

They aren't technical mountain boots, they are mega comfy everyday footwear with a nod to our mountain heritage that you could do gentle walking in ... with a Vibram sole! The fit is on the Euro narrow/low side, I had to go one euro size up  as I have wider/higher British feet!

I reckon they do anything from coping as ski resort apres ski boots to walking to smart clothes to jeans and casual shirt.

Meindl also do regular leather shoes with vibram-like soles. I have an older version of this model

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Meindl-Shoes-Sasel-Men-Brown/dp/B00YB0ZJ2Y

that still had Bavarian style side lacing ("Haferlschuh") which I like very much.
