Morning folks,

hows it going? Sunnier here now on the south coast.

Looking for advice for a really warm, fairly lightweight bomber primaloft jacket. Was thinking about a Montane Flux or of I can get hold if an older RAB generator.

Any other recommendations, Alpkit maybe?

Cheers,

Den

I only have experience with Mountain Equipment Fitzroy and Citadel. Both great.

And Patagonia seem to have DAS and DAS Light options but I haven't used them and they are spendy.

Edit: Alpkit Ohiro could be good.

Was also looking at the Fitzroy. Had an original DAS which was great but as you say, expensive.

I like my Fitzroy. Not too heavy, fairly robust and just warm enough for a long Scottish winter belay.

Alpkit Katabatic are decent though not too wind proof. Got mine cheap off the sale rail last year, don't go for orange it shows dirt quickly.

If you want real warmth then I can strongly recommend the Rab Photon X. Proper no frills quilt. It's not light but it is bomber and it makes you feel immediately brilliant when you put it on.

It's been replaced by the lighter weight Photon Pro but you might be able to find one scudding about, I got mine off the sale rail in Go Outdoors.

Jacket named after wind isn't windproof. Bit of a marketing fail there!
