Hi

Could not decide where to go - Scotland or closer to home Snowdonia. Mixed climbing (or ice if lucky) in mind. Got guy who never climb in winter, only indoor, so slow and relatively easy route up to IV. Any update on ice/snow condition on Trinity face please?

I'm not sure if any of the routes there have been in condition at point this winter. Wales seems to have had one of the least snowy winters in memory on the mountains. You'll get more up to date information from joining the winter climbing Snowdonia and Ground Conditions in the UK mountains Facebook groups but I'm afraid its not been good news.

Looking at the forecast this week I reckon some of the high up rockier mixed routes might be in acceptable condition, but currently it looks like it might warm up by saturday and be above freezing on tops again. Who knows though, the forecast can change a lot that far out.

My forecast is showing a 6am-ish turbo thaw kicking in on the Saturday morning.
