Have learnt the issues with gusting wind the hard way - literally blown off my feet in the cairngorms with my climbing buddy and had to self rescue ourselves back to the bottom of the funicular. Claret everywhere for a few minutes resulting in  stitches on my head and lots of bruises and cracked ribs for both of us. Be ready to drop to the floor and expect any summit might have to be missed - discretion not valour....
