Which ones do you like?

This year I'm especially enjoying Carol of the bells.

I love a bit of “Driving home for Christmas.”

The Halsway Carol is a catchy little tune written by hurdy gurdy player Nigel Eaton. There is a catalogue of people playing the tune on the website with just short of 200 submissions and people are welcome to contribute, it seems the more esoteric the instrument the better.

'Good King Wenceslas' is always cheering to sing

If I didn't know the words I'd assume they are about to summon Lucifer and then burn the entire neighbourhood with flamethrowers.

The same ones that I post every year in reply to this same thread that you post several times each December, Frank.

Brilliant!

Whilst it sounds like a daily mash story, he wrote the song whilst being driven by his wife during a driving ban!

Sorry that was mean spirited.

For newcomers to The Lemming’s Christmas song threads, the ones I like are Mary Margaret O’Hara’s “Silent Night” and Elvis Presley’s “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem”.

Kristin Hersh’s cover of Big Star’s “Jesus Christ” is good too.

None of these are novelties or  disrespectful etc. They are straight earnest Christmas songs.

I don't know whether to fear this or be impressed?
