Im about to head off to work at an activity centre over summer and was wanting a pair of approach shoes. I am running the climbing facilities at the centre so wasn't wanting to work in a pair of boots so was wondering what you guys might recommend.

Tbh, it will depend on your foot shape and what works for you.

I currently have 5.10 guide tennies, but wouldn't get them again. (Now owned by addidas and they are just different to the old one's!)

Get to a few shops and try on as many as you can.

I mostly see Sketchers worn at the local indoor wall. But any comfortable trainer for indoors would be fine.

Outdoors is a bit of a different matter, you'll want something you can climb in.

I'm a big fan of my Scarpa Crux's - pretty good on the solos I've done in them, and comfy to belay in either indoors or on loose/blocky crag bases outside. I use them as my main shoes for everyday wear as well.

Bit of a Scarpa fan though, so YMMV, as they seem to fit my feet nicet

For the British outdoors (i.e. the piss-wet), Scarpa Vortex is by far the best, most waterproof shoe or walking boot I've ever had. Really comfy, lasts forever. Worth every penny.
