The Fluted Buttress / Goat Track area, left of centre, has a well deserved reputation for stonefall year round The Cairngorm Mountain Ranger Service and Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team haveĀ advised people to be aware of rockfall aroundĀ the Goat Track side of Cairn Gorm's Coire an t-Sneachda.

In reply to UKC/UKH News: We had a very near miss a couple of years ago; we went to do magic crack and around 5 minutes after getting to the base of the route, several tonnes of rock clattered down right across the path we had just walked across. Sobering to say the least. Take great care anywhere in that coire, it's an accident waiting to happen

I went round the Fiachaills yesterday and there were football sized boulders on the normal route on the ridge close to the last buttress. These were not there in the spring. If they were "released" they would drop into Fiachaill couloir close to the line of Bellhaven.
