My skoda yeti radio turned to German and stopped working including the cd with no sound. Tried taken off battery terminals and took fused out and back in but no joy

Anyone else had similar and any hopefully not so expensive fixes

I think the problem is that its Brexit language non-cooperation protocol has been activated a few weeks early.

This will happen to all EU-designed cars in the event of a no deal Brexit.

You may be able to send the radio away to a car audio repair specialist to be fixed. Bell electronics in bolton Lancashire is a company some of my customers have had success with. Otherwise it’s a new radio i am afraid.

Doesn't help you other than to prove that Skoda audio systems have a mind of their own;

My '62 Octavia has a system that did not include Bluetooth/hands-free etc. I double checked on purchase, as it is a special edition based on a model which did, and I also checked the instructions thoroughly in case there was a way of activating it, to no avail. Dealer also confirmed this model didn't have it.

Roll on 6 1/2 years, and a couple of weeks ago I turned the ignition on only for the trip computer display only to start asking me to sync my phone, having done nothing different at all. A few minutes fiddling later and I have full Bluetooth, Media Player and Handsfree, and research has not come up with any way you can add or remove it, even if I wanted to. My car just decided it wanted me to have it now, perhaps as my driving has slowed down over the years and this is a reward. Yours must have decided its German, and until you treat it as such, won't play anything except, perhaps Wagner or Ooompah stuff?
