Really enjoyed the ShAFF weekend so many thanks for Matt and his team and those who produced the films, activities and exhibits and the enthusiasm of the people attending. It's noticeably a much more 'normal' festival crowd than Kendal I guess as it's a lot more affordable.

For those of an environmental bent the BMC celebrated Mend our Mountains (still fundraising in some areas) and  launched "Hills to Oceans", (H2O) organising and coordinating litter picks from mountains to the sea (in association with Surfers against Sewage). The Women in Adventure Films seem to be growing in quality and numbers every year: all viewable on BMC TV. For history buffs its the 75th anniversary of the BMC and they will be working with the Mountain Heritage Trust throughout this year to celebrate.

My personal, film highlights were the immersive VR clip of Alex soloing El Cap and Adam Ondra's extreme visualisation methodology.   In the first case you feel like you are there, in the second you imagine (pure fantasy for most) you could be.
