Hi there - what is the salary for this role?

This is the most important point for any job advert; UKC could make a really positive contribution here by not accepting job adverts unless they specify the salary (not a range either!). Some do, but a lot don't;  I cannot emphasise enough how frustrating this is when looking for a job.

Thanks for your feedback. While we totally understand what you are saying we don’t advertise the salaries on our vacancies as we have to consider salary confidentiality of staff who are currently working in similar roles at Equip’. I did reply via private message to conrossmac and I'm happy to do so for anyone wishing to contact me

Thanks for responding as many employers wouldn't. I understand your point but would counter by saying if an employer is paying existing staff less than the salary of an advertised job, either a) the roles are different and command different salaries or b) existing staff are underpaid and the employer doesn't want to be called out on it! If A, this shouldn't be too hard a conversation to have and if B, its deceitful. That said, its good you are willing to discuss it privately with people; in future might be good to have a sentence saying this in the advert at the outset? Cheers!

Hi thanks for your reply.  Apologies, you misunderstand what I was saying in my previous comment. Staff in a particular role within a department are all paid within a set salary banding and that is the same for new hires coming in to the department. We are protecting the privacy of our employees by not disclosing their salary banding to the public and their colleagues.

We discuss salary and benefits at application stage so that we don't waste anyone's time.  The original poster asked for the salary details and I replied privately.
