Watched by bemused onlookers, an ill-equipped party set off down the PYG trackMountain mishaps can of course happen anywhere, but over the years certain locations have become notorious for accidents. With help from local Mountain Rescue Teams we detail some of the key spots here.

Coire na Tulaich on the Buchaille also springs to mind.

A notorious avalanche blackspot and this has forced me to retreat on one occasion when I checked the snow. Doubly dangerous as many use it as a quick way off the Buachaille.

Another area for concern are those returning across Crib Goch and wander down the Parson's Nose.
