In getting ready for skiing next week I put new batteries in my avi transceiver only to get a "457 SEARCH failure" message which persist after making sure I'm away from any electronics. The manual states that this means it needs repair, and the repair centre appears to be in Switzerland!

I've e-mailed the service address but in the meantime has anyone had experience of this and the cost and duration involved?

I think V12 in Llanberis offers Mammut transceiver servicing.

Thanks, Facewest can only do diagnostics and Firmware update, and would have to send it back to Switzerland for any actual repairs needed. I’ve had it for 10 years so may have to replace it

A few years ago I sent mine in due to an error code showing. 

It maybe took a couple weeks or so but was free and they ended up just sending a new beacon out.
