Does anybody know where the best place to find current ice climbing conditions in La Grave is? I know for example in Cogne there is a Facebook Group, is there anything similar for La Grave?

Here's a few that might help you get started...

Southern alps, seems to be the biggest group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/984426331705609/

Whole of the alps? https://www.facebook.com/AlpesConditionsDeGlace/?ref=br_rs

The Ecrins ice festival page might have some use soon, but doesn't seem so conditions orientated... https://www.facebook.com/Ice-Climbing-Ecrins-352141028210309/?ref=br_rs

oh and in response to the original question many (10-15) years ago the ice-fall.com site was the one to use for sure, but don't know if it still is. Think it was run by a guide from Celliac so more often gave updates for there and fressinniers and was not so good at updating the la grave stuff.

I don't remember the group for Cogne, but there is the guidebook FB page that is updated regularly.

For La grave, the last couple winters the bureau des guides have been issuing conditions updates (in french) complete with photos of each icefall.  Don't remember what exact fb group they publish it on but if you email them you should get a response.  Its not been massively cold in the alps yet but that is due to change tomorrow.

Update. Go to 'Guides La Grave' fb page.
