In reply to UKC/UKH Gear: A very nice pack and innovative design from Lowe Alpine. I had the chance to test the 42/27 before it was launched and was impressed with the quality and functionality of the pack. The back system takes the load very well, it's comfortable and easy to adjust.  This is not meant to be a light bag but a functional one. A versatile piece of kit whether you go touring, scrambling or just for a hike in the mountains. The fabric is durable and very weather resistant. After a day is welsh wet weather everything inside was dry without using the waterproof cover.

Even though Lowe Alpine came a long way and it's a fantastic pack, some of us, including me, found that the hip belt is a touch too long and had to pull the straps to the maximum for a snug fit. If you have a narrow waist try it with some weight before you commit.
