I'm finally upgrading from waterproofs over a softshell to hardshell trousers and I've picked up a set of Mountain Equipment Tupilak Pants but I'm not sure if they are right and was looking for some advice.
Having tried them on in the shop the mediums fitted the best in terms of not being baggy, seemingly big enough and not restricting range of motion but having tried them on with my boots when getting back I'm concerned they are not long enough. Don't know how to post a picture here but at rest they just cover the eyelet of the boot and the internal gaiter will only just reach the very top of the lace - my gut is that this is too short but I'm not completely sure - how far down should they be covering?
Also, though they have the small internal gaiter I assume you'd still need to wear a main winter gaiter over the top (when in deep/softer snow)?
