[Off Piste Scotland]
Skiing off piste in Scotland means mastering the full gamut of snow types and weather conditions or waiting for those rare blue sky days when the stars align to give perfect weather and conditions in some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. In this short film we join Off Piste Performance for a weekend of atmospheric spring skiing on Ben Nevis. Martin Burrows Smith, Scottish steep skiing pioneer, guides us through a brief history of the escape from the pistes in the 60s. Produced, Directed & Edited by Rob Johnson. Cameras: Rob Johnson & Ben Pritchard. Aerials: Rob Johnson. Photographs: Martin Burrows Smith & George Reid. Skiers: James Thacker, Jim Savage, Julia Hobson & Gillian Parker

How good does the Ben look in this? C’mon the snow!

In reply to UKC Videos:

I was climbing on Ben when the party was skiing off CMD Arete, quite something to watch whilst belaying!

An entertaining short film.

Thanks for the positive comments, glad you have enjoyed it. For us this was a fun project, and an opportunity to celebrate Ben Nevis as much as its skiing.
