Eskimo Nell (E1 5b) has FA listed as 1969 in Rockfax Dorset (2012), but 1967 in CC Dorset (1969).  And with different people.  Could the Rockfax guide refer to the FFA, or the FA of the direct variant?

Also the next door route Pearly Gate (E1 5b) is called "Pearly Gates" in the 1969 guide, but "Pearly Gate" in Rockfax and on here.

The FA list in the current CC guide gives both dates:

- The main groove was avoided on the first ascent, the groove was climbed 16.2.69...

Thanks, that makes sense.  I guess Rockfax might call their route Eskimo Nell (direct) if they wanted to avoid ambiguity, but perhaps I'm being pedantic.

Looking closer, 1969 guide gives grade as HS, but says "the groove may be taken direct at Hard Very Severe".

Also, it's "Pearly Gate" in the latest definitive.
