Could UK Government get sued over BREXIT?

Trumps advise to May (sue the EU) got me thinking - could the UK Government find itself being sued over lose or damage caused by BREXIT?

I was specifically thinking of places like port of Dover - for example if they have to re-introduce customs checks there will be a massive operational cost, plus a knock on effect and less business/profit as a result.

Would it be reasonable for companies to seek redress if the UK government fail to negotiate a deal that allows the current 'friction-less' system to continue?

If thats the case, surely there would be a whole host of companies/sectors that would find themselves at a lose as a direct result of a 'no deal BREXIT'.

Omni-shambles springs to mind!

I don't know if they could or not, but I will get popcorn ready to enjoy the show if they do!

Nothing would surprise me in this debacle!

There are international courts for resolving investor state disputes so it's possible.

There's enough money at stake for thousands of  multinational  company that it might be inevitable.

Technically. Yes. Practically, you’d better have some good lawyers, evidence and time on your hands.
