I'm going to be in Chile for a few weeks of work and I am hoping to tag on a bit of hiking and camping. I would ideally like to go solo but I have no experience of Chile. I have picked out a few hikes that look suitable: 2-3 days, camping, not too high, no ice, not technical etc. But I need some accurate weather reports before I head off and get stuck in some adverse conditions.
What is generally the best way to get accurate localised weather information about particular routes or regions of the Andes or any other mountain region when abroad?
