Water forming on top of outside of inner tent

Hello,

Firstly, I have contacted Terra Nova for their view on this.

I purchased a new Terra Nova Voyager tent and recently used it in some fairly wet conditions. I found though, that there was water forming on top of the outside of the inner tent and was dripping through.

It seemed to be too much water for it to be caused by condensation and I don't think that the inner was touching the flysheet.

I'm not currently using a footprint - do you think that would make the difference?

Grateful for any thoughts.

Cheers.

I had the same problem with my Terra Nova Ultra Quasar. The poodle on the inner is almost certain to be caused by condensation. And the geometry of the tent has horizontal zones on both the fly and the inner, so when wet the material yield causing poodles. A tight pitch seems to alleviate the problem.

It probably is condensation.  Give your tent a very gentle shake occasionally to get rid of water on the fabric.  Pitch carefully to avoid sagging.

Maybe it's your poodle that's leaving puddles

Was it raining or windy? I've had condensation on the fly get shaken onto the inner by heavy rain or wind in tents before.
