As of an hour ago the choppers are in the air, on the way to K2BC to pick up Denis Urubko and Adam Bielicki, but it will be getting late in the day by the time they reach Nanga Parbat, and the weather forecast for tomorrow is not good.

Elizabeth Revol is an incredibly strong climber, but has been out in the open, descending without a tent for nearly a day now, and has frostbitten feet already.

Lots of detail in the French update, but the bottom line is that the Polish resecuers are trapped at BC by bad weather and horrific temperatures (-60C), whilst there is to much fog for the helis to fly.

Must be getting a lot more attention elsewhere to crowdfund 100,000 in 48 hours.

Denis and Adam were at 6000m a few minutes ago, according to Adam's tracker. The helos could not fly high enough to pick Elizabeth up, so Denis and Adam are climbing up to her. Masha Gordon is providing updates via her Facebook page. Elizabeth has started to descend again, currently in the dark, and hopefully Denis and Adam are only a few hours away.

"Denis Urubko and Adam Bielecki have met Elisabeth in the vicinity of C2 (6100m). She will now be assisted to lower altitudes, where Piotr Tomala and Jaros?aw Bator await with medical supplies.

Further course of action to reach Tomek isn't known at the moment."

They've apparently now decided they can't.

ps is Denis Urubko Polish ? (as in the Le Monde article) - I thought he was Russian/Kazak (not that it really matters)
