[Red Screes Wild Camp]
I met up with a few friends for the last adventure of 2017. We headed up to the summit of Red Screes in the Lake District for a wild camp & some fun.

Watch the video: http://www.ukclimbing.com/videos/play.php?i=4025

Maybe its just me, but does anyone else cringe at the term 'wild' camping. A bit like 'wild' swimming. Like i said, maybe its just me....

Nobodies picking holes with the video or the people mate, more the rebranding of things. Maybe I'm guilty of nostalgia, when things were simpler and called what they were, but maybe I'm wrong and should keep my mouth shut. Anyhow, I'm sorry if it came across as critical of the video but my sentiment remains the same. The term wild has been used by many as a marketing tool. People used to just go swimming, now there are guides available to go 'wild' swimming. I may be wrong but I see this as part of the commercialism of the outdoors. No offence intended. I'm not sure what you may have been implying at the end of your post, but people are allowed to have an opinion, and simply because they do does not automatically make them armchair critics, which reading between the lines is, I think, what you were inferring. On my part, maybe it wasn't the place to comment, and maybe I should have started a new thread to discuss, so as not to offend.
