Hi I'm a final Year Student studying Product Design at Bournemouth University
I am looking into the problem of loss of chalk when DWS. I have created this short Questionnaire containing two documents to read, they go into depth about what my research will be used for and what taking part will involve, along with (9) questions taking around 5 mins to complete.
Everything is anonymous and individual results will not be released.

I'm absolutely sure the answer to all the questions is liquid chalk...

Indeed. A chalk bag for DWS is about as practical as using climbing flippers.

Not really, the way everyone I know does it is to put a sandwich bag or carrier bag inside the chalkbag with a small amount of chalk in. Then replace the bag if you fall in.

Fair enough. The only time I tried it was in rough seas in Mallorca and by the time I'd surfaced and got my breath back I often had no idea where they'd gone.

It still leaves the problem of single use plastic bags though - although I prefer liquid chalk, a chalk bag made of sail cloth or even duct tape works well and lasts a long time

We cut the bottom off a 2 litre water bottle and thread a waist belt or rope through, then just dry and refill after a dip.
