Assistant Manager (full-time):

Boulder Shack is looking for a new Assistant Manager, Fletcher our favourite Kiwi is leaving us to explore more outdoor climbing adventures. Fletcher will be staying with us to facilitate in your training if you are a successful applicant, so like us you will learn to love the bearded man before he moves on in his travels. Duties/Responsibilities :-
- To provide excellent, friendly customer service: in person, by phone and via email/social media
- To work efficiently on reception, dealing with customer bookings and general administration
- To deliver engaging climbing sessions to a broad range of junior and adult customers
- To be proactive in dealing with cleaning, Health & Safety, maintenance and other vital centre duties
- Manage the daily running of the entire centre
- Ensure that Health & Safety standards are met at all times
- Organise and manage centre events
- Supervise and train team members
- Play a key role in the administration and HR of the business

Essential skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- To have a positive approach in dealing with customers
- A willingness to embrace problem-solving
- Competent computer skills
- First Aid qualification
- Be a positive and confident team leader
- Have a good understanding of the climbing/leisure industry
- At least CWA or SPA training

Would ideally have
- CWA or SPA qualification
- Route setting experience/training
- Performance coaching experience/qualifications
- A current child safeguarding certificate
- Experience of working with children
- Personal climbing experience

Desirable skills
- Confidence to deal with maintenance
- Marketing, media or design skills
- Finance/HR experience
- Food and beverage industry knowledge

Hours, pay and perks
- £17,000 - £21,000 per annum
- 40 hours per week contract
- Shifts will include daytime, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
- Will be contracted to work a minimum of 5 weekend days per month
- £250 per year to be paid towards any training/qualifications of your choice
- 28 days holiday per year
- Free / unlimited tea, coffee, climbing and laughs
