Route Setting Manager – Redpoint Bristol

Redpoint Bristol is well known for the quality of its route setting, even if we say so ourselves…. We invest in pro-setters and talent within the team to ensure we are maintaining the creativity in our routes and boulders. Unfortunately we are losing James, our current manager, but that gives someone else an opportunity to build on what is already a great reputation for quality route setting and events.

The position will start at the beginning of December and will shadow James for 2 months, helping to organise and put on two major events including our self-styled Hands-Off Feet-Off (HOFO) comp in December and an all-out UV climbing festival in February!

After that the role will be yours to develop with assistance and guidance from the Directors and the management team.

The Interview
Well how else than with a SETTER SHOWDOWN!!
Candidates will be invited to come down (ideally on the 6th or 9th Oct). They will have 4 boulder problems and one roped line to set with the current setting manager followed by an interview with the Centre Manager and Directors.

The routes you set will be marked up and our customers will have an opportunity to comment and vote on their favourites. This will only be a part of the decision process as obviously we need our setting manager to do more than just set great routes.
