Hi, as my title says the ankle area is a loose fit but otherwise the boot fits. My ankles are just sticks compared to my relatively large feet. Need some sort of 'half sock' or something so that the ankle area is snug.

Does anyone have other suggestions?

Would these work? https://rockrun.com/collections/deals-rock-climbing-shoes/products/saltic-n...

They might provide too much support/stiffness though.

The only other thing I can think of is one of the those soft ankle supports that Boots or similar sell to bulk out the ankle area.

The problem with either of those approaches is they'll also bulk out the area around the instep etc too which might mean your shoes are then too tight.

Would a cohesive bandage work? it basically sticks to itself and can be re-used so you can experiment with different amounts of padding in the areas you need etc etc.
