Does anybody know how the above compare? Are the Zenders 'snug and sensitive' rather than 'vague and clumpy' llike new Guide Tennies can be found to be by some?

No knowledge of the Zender I'm afraid, but I've just replaced my old Tennies with Five Ten's new Approach Pro.
Same dotty stealth, no big clumpy plastic heel...they feel much truer to the original tennie than the official replacement, and definitely match your description of 'snug and sensitive'.
Worth a look if you get the chance.
