What a finish at Hampden!!
Bore draw looking likely then England go ahead then Scotland go equalise and then Scotland go ahead and then England equalise and......breathe.

Shame about the Scottish fans booing the English national anthem.

Which tune did they decide was the "English" national anthem?

Don't worry, once our PM sells us out the new National Anthem will sound very much like the Stars and Stripes.

The match was the history of Scottish football, in a nutshell

A win needed, against better opposition; against all likelihood, a winning score line going into injury time; then disappointment at the final whistle....

Glad they were competitive , lets see if they can take that foreward to the remaining group matches

Hats off to Leigh Griffith. He played for my club, Wolves, for a while and was rubbish but has improved enormously whilst at Celtic. Hes definitely happier playing his football in Glasgow.
They still have a chance to qualify and I hope they do. It's been a long time since France 98.

Certainly worth waiting for the final few minutes of the game. Result about right on the night.
I recall some reporter greeting Alf Ramsey as he exited the England coach...
"Welcome to Scotland Mr Ramsey!"
"You must be f***ing joking!"

Not a great performance from Engerland and no mention in the excitement at the end of the game over whether Scott Brown should have been sent off.

Certainly 2 bookables.

Leigh Griffiths should have been booked for diving and Cahill holding his head after dangerously giving away the free kick the first goal was scored from was disgraceful, nothing was near his head.

That was pathetic. He should have been booked for feigning injury.

Maybe not, but does show pretty p*ss-poor manners.
Maybe when the match is next played in England we need to have the verse mentioning General wade sung - and blasted out of the tannoy from a hundred-voice male choir at the same time.
And then add to it by playing the Scottish anthem on a tin whistle instead of by a band.

Scots will disagree with this sentiment, as will many English, but some of this anti-English RACISM is getting on my wick.

Och, away. Booing the national anthem is a bit of a poor show, but it isn't racist.

This is racist:

Anyway, Scotland v England is the oldest international rivalry in football. A bit of needle is part of the package. If it bothers you, the correct response is to ask what century it was that we last beat you.

(Of course the correct response to that is to ask what century it was when you last beat Iceland...)

Have a like. I'm old enough to remember when Scotland were quite good. Perhaps English fans will soon be reduced to cheering embarrassing results for other World Cup winners

England were so bad in that game that at half time this Englishman swapped sides, praying for a defeat that might finally cause the FA and media to wake up.

In other news England U20 won the U20 World Cup and the second XI U20 won the Toulon Tournament.

Surely it's "when did you last beat the Faroe Islands" ?

Actually what bothers me is the differing reactions to such antics;

When Scots boo the English (and British) anthem we (English) are expected to "suck it up".
If the English fans booed the Scottish anthem Sturgeon would be up in arms demanding an apology from the PM.

It's part of this problem; if a Scot flies the Saltire he's a patriot, when an Englishman flies the Cross of St George he's accused of being a racist.
