Telescopic poles (not beta designs)

I have replaced my beta designs clip stick after my last one was stolen, and it is already broken.

I knew they were rubbish as I've had one before, but I was wondering if anyone has found any other poles that are good to use?

I want to cut the end piece off and stick it on a better stick and I'm after a pole like the compact one, not a massive fishing/decorating pole like some people have.

So what poles are available that go from about ~ 70cm to 280cm?

I use a festival whip pole (those things for flags). Mine´ s 6m long with a few of the real thin end sections removed as it was a 7m one but they come in various lengths and you chuck away the sections you don´ t want. Collapses down to fit in my rucksac so about 60cm I´ d guess.

This is the best I have found so far on google. I will keep trying but this is looking promising.

Thanks!

A friend made one from some sort of fish landing pole, I don't fish so can't be sure that's the right term but is really compact when minimised and longer than 2.8m when extended.

Right, life will be easier now I´ ve dragged mine out and looked at it! It isn´ t flag pole it is a fishing pole known as a whip. Mine is 6m and they are called travel whips as they pack down to 58cm.
Here´ s the Decathlon 5m one so you know what to look for, no doubt they do other sizes. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/lakeside-1-travel-500-id_8324376.html
Expect to lose the top couple of segments, they are hell of a flexible!

Thinking about buying a clip stick. If you use this trick, do u need / fix the end of a real clip stick to the fishing pole (whip)? Apologies if that sounds daft, not had / used a clipper before.

Well something! Basic is just finger-tape a krab on with a twig to hold the gate open and it gets more refined if you want.

A bulldog clip works fine. Or improvise something of a similar shape. I have used plenty of other people's contraptions that work without the beta designs piece.

Ah, that's the same one as I 'd been talking about too. My friend fabricated a similar draw-holder as the betastick part and overall it's a pretty decent article made at a fraction of the cost.

Or try getting a super clip. They fit on any pole and are remarkably helpful.
