Anyone know of the current sport lines that were originally done as trad routes or have ever been? Thanks.

Rated PG used to be more like trad route. It only had one bolt, the sole protection for the pitch.

As far as I remember it was always a clip up. Maybe most of it was pegs though?

Hi Tim

1990 Rockfax , on the LCW, has A career with prospects,Extra over, Bolt revolt, Brain dead dave and Hyperactive housewife as all climbed to a bolt belay on an assortments of wires pegs and threads but no bolt runners.

All the other routes have at least one bolt runner.

The other " traditional " way of getting up Malham , of course, used to be aiding up.
Very popular in the 70's, even to the point of wearing out the bolt hangers

Most aid routes used a lot of bolts, including a lot of strange homemade thingies.

Cheers Rick. Matt was asking if I knew this, thought it might provoke some interest. Can imagine rocking up at the catwalk with a load of trad gear would provide some entertainment!

You'd have to do it when a mega wad was there. Trad overshadow or something. Fairly fantastical tho.
The wings all have trad too, let's not forget.

Only if wearing navy blue tracksters with red piping, orange JB helmet and a Whilans harness with a full set of Hexes and drinking tea from a tartan thermos.

Wasn't this one of the battlegrounds of the 'Yorkshire Bolt War'? Bolt revolt gives a flavour. And wasn't there a route called Red Point No Point?
