Blocked remote canister stove due to debris in canister

Over the weekend my Primus Eta Spider was immediately blocked up and spluttering when I inverted my gas canister. It was about two years old so I guess it must have rusted internally and the stove sucked that up. It would be helpful if the canisters had a use by date on them or something but anyway.

How do I fix it? It seems the connector to the canister is fixed in place which is where I'm assuming the blockage is. I suppose it could be the jet but I don't have a jet cleaning tool. Any ideas?

Either use the correct size pricking tool or try boiling the nipple in water for a minute.

Boiling sorted my stove. HTH

Once I figured out how to remove it from the stove (no help to Primus) boiling the nozzle worked a treat! Thanks

Glad it worked.

Not my trick BTW.

Once explained to me it might be gunge in the gas, heating it up melts it out.

Might even be worth trying it on an upside down burner, without taking off the nipple. Gas cannister not connected of course.
