Hi
!
I've had an ankle arthroscopy to remove my bone spur that is causing anterior ankle impingement.
The specialist says that the swollen is normal and it is due to "bruising of the bone", a consequence of the procedure.

Anyway, I am on crutches, and the other day I accidentally slipped and the consequence was: pressure by dorsiflexion on the operated ankle!!

I am wondering if the bone spur will reoccur, thereby making the operation pointless ?

I really like to resume my rock climbing ASAP!!

I had an ankle arthroscopy (sp?) last year for much the same problem caused by a fall bouldering. I know i twisted my ankle reasonably badly a few times whilst on crutches afterwards and it doesn't seem to have caused any permanent damage as far as i can tell. I'm unsure how that compares to what you've done but here's hoping for you.
If it makes you feel any better mine is now way better than my "good" ankle post op and it was totally shagged it prior to it..

Good luck!

Oh yeah - do the Physio they give you. It's boring and a pain but it pays dividends.
