The 2017 Banff Mountain Film Festival UK Tour is halfway through its four month road trip and is heading for Hebden Bridge (25th April) and then to Keswick on 26, 27 and 29 April.

This year’s Tour is bigger than ever with a brand new collection of the most exhilarating and inspirational adventure films on the planet! Check out the mind-blowing journeys, high-altitude action and phenomenal landscapes as the world’s top adventurers push life to the limits.

FILMS

Two entirely different film programmes will be shown again this year – the Red and Blue film programmes. Some of the films featuring on this year’s tour includes

DOING IT SCARED
Paul Pritchard was one of the leading climbers of the 1980s and 1990s, renowned for his extremely bold first ascents. In 1998 Paul was almost killed in an accident at the Totem Pole in Tasmania. Despite his disabilities from the incident, Paul returns to the Totem Pole 18 years later to face his fears and to try and finish the climb.

YOUNG GUNS
Young Guns features two of the most exciting and promising young climbers of today, 15-year-old Ashima Shiraishi and 16-year-old Kai Lightner. The film takes them to Norway’s stunning coastline and then to Japan with Ashima as she attempts to be the first woman, and youngest person, to climb the cutting-edge grade of V15...

FLEDGLINGS
As professional climbers, Cedar Wright and Matt Segal are used to being at the top of their game. When they take up paragliding, however, things are different. Tree landings and sketchy moments become the new normal and with only six months of flying under their belts, the pair embark on an audacious objective: to climb and fly off Orizaba, the highest peak in Mexico. What ensues is a lesson in jumping into the deep end…

Other highlights include skiing the steepest lines in the Alps, rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, wingsuit flying and speed riding in Chamonix, mountain biking in Scotland and more – a total of 14 films spread across two different programmes.
