I'm currently planning some route options for a 9 day trip to the alps in July.

Hoping to stick to the Valais region as there's a couple of routes I definitely want to get on but can be flexible depending on weather.

Can anyone recommend a mountaineering guidebook for the region? I've had a look at the Swiss Plaisir Alpin but was slightly put off by the description on Needlesport stating that it's mainly F's with a few PD's. Does anyone have this book, is it worthwhile?

We'll only be climbing up to AD+ but I don't want to get the book if it's mainly F grades.

Thanks

This is.good, if pricey. As are the AC Valais East and West if you can find them. Also Martin Moran's 4000m peak guide.

Thanks, I'll see if I can pick up a copy.

Most things Swiss tend to be on the pricey side these days!!

Hi,

This is the one you want, awesome pictures and route discriptions. It's fairly new ( maybe 2 years)
