premier post photo Cedar Wright is Headlining the 2017 Aviemore Adventure Festival, which is back for another year of exciting outdoor activities, talks, workshops and films with leading outdoor athletes- held on the weekend of 9-12 March 2017 in Aviemore.

Long distance endurance cyclist EMILY CHAPPELL will be kicking the festival off on Friday night with an inspiring lecture about her recent success in the Transcontinental Race- a gruelling 4000km endurance cycling event from Belgium to Turkey crossing the Alps, which Emily won in 2016.

This year CEDAR WRIGHT will be headlining the festival with an inspiring & no doubt hilarious talk about his climbing career including his recent big wall climbing trip to Kenya with Alex Honnold- as well as his new forays into paragliding, culminating in the recent film “Fledgelings” where Cedar and friends flew off the Orizaba, the third-highest peak in the America’s and the highest in Mexico.

Ultra endurance runner Paul Giblin will also be talking on Saturday afternoon about his achievements in ultra-marathons, including the UTMB and the West Highland Way Race- which he has won 3 times. And on Sunday Afternoon, Sea Kayaking Adventurer Justine Curgenven will be speaking about her long distance sea kayaking journeys including the first crossing of the Aleutian Island Chain with Sarah Outen in 2015.

Our final session at this year’s festival, Mick Fowler- acclaimed Himalayan mountaineer and two time winner of the Pilot D’or award- will be speaking. Mick has spent a lifetime climbing some of the toughest Himalayan routes and has just returned from completing the first ascent of the north buttress of Sersank in the Indian Himalaya with Victor Saunders in October 2016- which he will be talking about for the very first time at the festival.

On top of that, we have special gear testing events with Garmin, LEKI and Inov8 as well as workshops with with film-makers, photographers & local outdoor guides including “Canoe the Spey” taster session and “Ski Mountaineering Equipment Demo Day” with local outdoor suppliers.

Individual Session Tickets start from £9, with Full Weekend Passes £44. Discounts available for students, concessions & Under 18s.
