Hello everyone,

After a climb of Snowdon recently a friend and I have caught a serious climbing bug, we are aiming at the TPC and Mont Blanc by 2019.

I have put together a list of gear that I think suitable for Mont Blanc which is the end goal, I would rather buy everything for that than have to upgrade along the way so looking for your view on a couple of bits please.

My question is, are these going to be serious overkill for Snowdon, Ben Nevis and anything other than Mont Blanc as that is where the majority of use will be and would you recommend anything other than I have selected?

We will only be climbing October to March.

Boots: Sportiva Nepal's

Crampons: BD Sabre Tooth pro or Grivel G12 New Matic

Axe: This is a hard one, there are a few that really catch my eye so looking for opinion on the best suited to all round work.

BD: Viper or Cobra or Venom
DMM: Raptor or Cirque

Thanks in advance
Daniel

An Alpenstock will do you for Snowdon & Mont Blanc, unless of course you're planning on doing the Peuterey Integrale!

I am thinking of getting into more technical routes in future so buy what I would likely need now.

your main investment is a good pair of boots that fit well
