Does anyone have anyone experience of wearing a powerdry top (e.g ME eclipse) under a rab vapour rise alpine/alpine lite. Does it impede motion when reaching up when climbing/scrambling. Any thoughts appreciated

I regularly wear an R1 hoody (powerdry) underneath a Patagonia Northwall (fleece-backed soft shell) for dry and cold climbing in the alps or ice climbing if temps are well below zero.

No significant hindrance to motion. Go for it.

Cheers for that. I just didn't know if the two layers of fleece would act like velcro and 'jam' up.

Depends on the cut of the items as much as the linings.

Nope, it's a fine combo. But a little warm for me in all but the coldest of dry weather, unless your not moving very fast.

Can't speak for the powerdry top as I haven't got one, but I sometimes where my VR directly over a base layer or if really cold add a polartec 100 top in between. Can't say I've noticed any difference in mobility. As always fit is everything, try before you buy.
