The European Space Agency has given financial backing to a new project which aims to map tick hot spots in the Scottish Highlands using GPS technology, smartphones and 'citizen scientists'.

They could use Trident, as that would clear Scotland of nuclear weapons and thus kill two birds with one stone...

Is there any such thing as a "tick hotspot" in the Highlands? I seriously can't think of anywhere that I've been during tick season that I haven't picked up at least a couple of them.
