Sounds like a great trip. As a non car owner all my trips are by Public Transport which has the advantage of allowing my trips to be linear. As a rule i always start from somewhere i've walked to before and travel to somewhere new. Thus building up a 'web' of walks centered on my home in Mcr and extending to York, Sheffield, Derby, Stoke, Chester and Anglesey spending my money in the local economy and walking the 'bits' inbetween rather than driving to a 'Honey pot' area, 'legging it' around in a circle, before driving home having contributed nothing other than erosion and traffic congestion
