[Steve McClure - Strawberries Onsight]
"Strawberries" (E7 6b) is one of the most famous routes in Britain. Located in the lovely crag of Tremadog, it has built a huge reputation since it was first climbed by Ron Fawcett back in the 80s. The demanding trad route was first onsighted by no other than Stefan Glowacz in 1987, an effort which, until now only Jorg Verhoeven (in 2011) and Hansjörg Auger (2012) had matched. On June 12, Steve McClure made the first British onsight of this legendary route - a dream came true for this outstanding climber.

It would be really good to see an unedited video of the whole climb as it happened. Any chance?

Nice one. You just managed to get me to watch a Marmot sweatshirt for about a minute.

Crap video indeed, maybe they are saving the footage for a DVD?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the feedback ... this is actually only a very short teaser of the footage that we have of Steve on the route. The full video will be released as part of a wider campaign in early 2015 so keep your eyes peeled.

Stay psyched,

Marmot UK
