"Scottish mountaineer Andy Nisbet has been named as the recipient of the seventh Scottish Award for Excellence in Mountain Culture.
The 60-year-old climber and instructor, who grew up in Aberdeen, will be formally presented with the award at the Fort William Mountain Festival."

Totally agree. The only thing that niggles is that he's (just!) younger than me. But, to be fair (if we really must be fair, grr!) that's hardly his fault.

I'm always a tad sceptical about awards but, when they go to such a thoroughly deserving person, it kind of restores your faith in them.

Hopefully he's got a few more decades in the hills in him.
