Maybe a silly question, but where are the "front crampon straps" on the Deuter guide? Product description mentions them http://www.deutergb.co.uk/alpine/guide-35/ but yet there isn't anything obvious. Am I missing something?

Take a look at the "joining compression straps" here (you have to click on "details" and find the right feature on the image). I think that is what you are supposed to use to strap your crampons

cheers for that! Or might just fit some straps across daisy chain too.

The old style, had fixed straps across the front:

I wonder if it's a bit of a dodgy product description? I've got the older design, and if you were to use the side compression/ski straps, across the front when the sack is full, you'll struggle to get your crampons under them.

Mailed Deuter GB on the question, and here's their reply:

"The front crampon straps refer to the daisy chain attachment points on either side of the front of the pack rather than to a specific crampon attachment point, I think that this is a bit of a difference in the way the specifications are translated from German into English."

So yes, think it does count as "dodgy product description"!
